Amthill Town CC & Marsa Select CC - 18th April 2015

Marsa entertained Cricketers CC and Ampthill Town CC on their 7th visit to Malta.

Thursday’s T20 with Ampthill Town CC:
The home side batted first and made an impressive 164 runs with Frank Spiteri top scoring with 48 runs. Richard Hardy took 2 wickets while Tom Degnan took 1.
Great bowling from the home side kept the visitors at bay, containing them to 129 runs. Richard Haxell was top scorer with 28. Sarfraz Ali was the main wicket taker for Marsa with 3.

Friday’s T20 with Cricketers CC:
The 2nd game saw Cricketers CC make 123 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Matt Grace top scored with 28. Gordon Hewitt and Graham Lobban took 2 wickets each for the home team. Nowell Khosla (57) and Andrew Naudi (35) saw Marsa home in the 18th over.

Saturday’s 40 over clash with Ampthill Town:
Ampthill batted first and posted a score of 194 runs all out. Reynolds top scored with 51. Mike Caruana was the main wicket taker for Cricketers_CC Malta Sports Cricket TourMarsa with 3. Another brilliant innings from Nowell Khosla (67) and a match-winning partnership of 69 runs between John Grima and Joy Ghoseroy helped Marsa CC over the line in a thrilling game.
Jeremy Degnan, Richard Hardy and Aaron Reynolds all took two wickets each for Ampthill Town.

Sunday’s 30 over clash with Cricketers CC:
On Sunday, Cricketers CC batted first and were content with a solid 235 runs off their allotted 40 overs.
A. Gentle top scored with 56, while M.Lynch made 48 and C.Summers made 45. Feroz Ahmed took 2 wickets for Marsa.
The visitors were left perplexed by Marsa opening batsman Haroon Mughal, who smashed 80 runs from 35 balls in reply. Sanjay Singh made 42 and Niraj Khanna 41.
G.Collins managed to take 2 wickets but Marsa won with overs to spare. The victory gave them 4 wins and brought to an end an exciting long-weekend of cricket in Malta.
